Sustainability

At Scott Logic, sustainability is woven into our purpose – to create opportunity and sustainable prosperity through technical innovation – and our Social Mission, through which we commit to safeguarding the future of the natural environment.

To live up to that commitment, we aspire not only to mitigate the risk of rising emissions from our own fast-growing business, but also to demonstrate climate leadership amongst our peers, industry and clients by going beyond minimum requirements. That's why we have committed to achieving net zero by 2040. And it's why we hold ourselves to account publicly through audits of our environmental impact, by signing up to collective action movements like Tech Zero, and by meeting the exacting standards required to have B Corporation status.

Assessing our sustainability

Every year since 2021, we have undergone an assessment of our sustainability by EcoVadis and the results verify that we’ve improved year on year. EcoVadis assesses organisations entirely on documentary evidence of policies, actions and results, categorised under four themes: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Our most recent assessment placed us in the 92nd percentile of assessed organisations in our industry.

With our ambitious targets to achieve carbon neutrality by 2028 and net zero by 2040, monitoring our progress is key. Each year since 2021, we have published an Environmental Impact Report which documents our carbon footprint, how we are tracking against our targets, and what we are doing to reduce our ongoing environmental impact.

Meeting exacting standards as a B Corp

B Corp logo

As a certified B Corporation, we are required to demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing B Lab Global's risk review. This is one of the key ways we hold ourselves to account in working towards our ambitious goals, while also taking collective action in a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.
