Founder and Executive Chair
Gary set up Scott Logic to build bespoke software for the world’s largest and most complex businesses. He holds an MSc in Parallel Computing, and is an expert in software development for financial institutions. Gary spent 17 years working in the heart of global finance before returning to his native North East to start Scott Logic. Fuelled by his vision and direction, Scott Logic has grown to include offices in Edinburgh, Bristol, London, Leeds, and Glasgow.

Chief Executive Officer
Russell leads Scott Logic, using his 25 years' experience in technology consultancies to help shape our next phase of growth. He was previously CEO of Kainos, where he built on a strong track record delivering complex digital and data programmes, with a particular focus on the public sector. Russell studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the University of Belfast, and is a council member of Ulster University.

Chief Technology Officer
Colin divides his time between leading the R&D team and providing advisory consultancy to clients. Widely recognised as a thought leader, Colin has a reputation throughout development circles as an expert in mobile technologies. He has also directed the team that developed a Securities Lending System for one of the world’s most instantly recognisable banks. A published author, blogger and tech visionary, Colin still finds time to practise his considerable skills as a 7-ball juggler.

At Scott Logic, we believe that open source offers immeasurable benefits and are keen to see increased adoption while tackling the sustainability challenges. There are four main ways by which we deliver on our commitment – consumption, contribution, creation, and working in partnership.
The Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at Scott Logic receive a minimum hourly wage of £12 in the UK or £13.15 in London. Both rates are significantly higher than the government minimum for over 21s, which currently stands at £11.44 per hour.
