We continue to improve our sustainability
29 June 2023
Scott Logic is becoming a more sustainable business, as verified through an independent assessment: global consultancy EcoVadis awarded us a score of 68/100 – up from last year’s 63/100 – putting us in the 92nd percentile of assessed organisations in our industry.
We have maintained our EcoVadis Silver badge, and our sustainability performance was classed as “advanced” whereas last year it was “moderate”.
At Scott Logic, sustainability is threaded through our business strategy and manifested through our Social Mission. It’s important that we hold ourselves accountable, track our performance, and identify areas for improvement. To this end, we seek independent validation.
For the last three years, we have submitted ourselves to assessment by EcoVadis and the results verify that we’re continuing to improve. When we were assessed for the first time in 2021, our overall score was 49/100, placing us in the 55th percentile of assessed organisations.
EcoVadis assesses organisations entirely on documentary evidence of policies, actions and results, categorised under four themes: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The assessments are industry-specific, allowing organisations to measure their performance in relation to peers operating in a similar context.
In the last year, our main areas of improvement have been under the themes of Sustainable Procurement and Environment – in both cases, a significant contributor to our improved score has been the progress we’ve made in delivering our net zero plan.
Our purpose is to create opportunity and sustainable prosperity through technical innovation – and that’s why we’ll always want to improve our sustainability as a business. We’ll factor the results of the EcoVadis assessment into our plans and priorities for the year ahead.
